Duties of the post:

As part of the Foreshore team, you’ll be responsible for operating the safety boats patrolling the inshore waters. You will be part of a team responsible for advising the public, controlling nuisances and assisting at incidents and emergencies. You will also carry out land patrols along the foreshore either using an ATV or on foot.

You should hold a Current RYA level 2-powerboat certificate (Planning) with commercial endorsement and hold a current VHF radio licence, as well as being a competent swimmer. Excellent verbal skills and knowledge of marine activities are essential, and some experience with Ribs, beach launching and recovery would be an advantage. You’ll also be a quick thinker and able to deal with people calmly and sometimes firmly.

You’ll be working a flexible 36-hour week over 7 hour shifts over six days including weekends and public holidays (subject to adjustment due to events, weather/tidal conditions). You must be 18 years old or over at the start of your employment which may be subject to a DBS disclosure.
