As our Wellbeing Advisor for Alcohol, you’ll have a passion for supporting and motivating people to live healthier lives, and the confidence to build and deliver a new project within a friendly established team.

This is a new post which will focus on establishing and delivering an early intervention and prevention project to support people who are drinking at increasing levels, but not dependent, to reduce their alcohol consumption.

You will need to have excellent communication skills and be confident in building rapport with providers across a number of organisations, including GP practices, in order to establish pathways into the service and of working on a one to one basis with a small caseload of people who want to reduce their drinking.

We’re looking for someone with experience of working on a one to one basis with people - we can help you to develop your skills around alcohol awareness and screening methods and we’ll provide you with full training on brief alcohol interventions and motivational interviewing skills. You will be supported by colleagues in the team, and through external clinical supervision, and will join the network of Wellbeing Advisors across West Sussex.

Adur & Worthing Wellbeing has been delivering high quality services to support people in our local communities to adopt positive healthy lifestyles since 2011. The service is part of a county-wide programme funded by Public Health West Sussex and delivered by the District and Borough Councils.

This post requires regular evening and weekend work, and is subject to an enhanced DBS check with adult barred. A clean driving licence and access to a car would be useful, but not essential.
