APPRENTICE TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
Salary: Starting from £19,554 to £21,166 per annum (Grade 3)
Contract: Full time for Two Years
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday with day release for study)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Council’s Engineering Section for an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest to learn and a passion for engineering in the form of a (Apprentice) Technical Assistant to work within a busy Engineering office whilst being supported to study for a Civil Engineering Apprenticeship.
The Council’s Engineering Section undertakes a broad range of civil, municipal and environmental engineering work on behalf of both Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council.
Applicants will require 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above (ideally including English, Maths and Science) or an equivalent vocational qualification, for example, Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship will require you to attend college weekly on day release; alongside working with an assessor to develop a work-based portfolio; undertaking work based assessments, completing all assignments/projects relating to the Apprenticeship framework and presenting evidence portfolios for assessment.
The role will include supporting the Engineering Section in delivering reactive maintenance and engineering projects; undertaking technical duties such as asset inspections, surveys, measurement, calculations and producing outline designs, estimations, CAD drawings and contract documentation.
The post holder must hold a full UK driving licence or willing to obtain a full licence within the 1st year of the apprenticeship.
