Post Title: Part Time Senior Planning Officer ( Maternity Cover)

Salary: From £34,788 to £37,849 per anum (pro rata)  ACTUAL SALARY for 22.2 hours per week will be £20,866 - £22,709 

Grade: Grade 7

Hours: 22.2 hours per week

Place of work: Portland House - Worthing

Come and join our friendly team and help us to plan the future development of Worthing Borough and Adur District on the south coast, adjacent to the South Downs National Park. The Planning Officers for both Councils work together as one team to cover this area.

Adur and Worthing have a wide variety of areas to plan for, ranging from town centres, the coast and river fronts.

Key planning issues include the regeneration of major sites such as Worthing town centre, Shoreham Harbour and Shoreham Airport as well as the conservation of the natural and built environment along the coast.

As a Senior Planner you will have an important role in helping to take forward a variety of spatial plans and documents, including the new Local Plan for Worthing and implementing the Adur Local Plan.

You will have a planning degree (or a degree in a relevant discipline) and have some relevant planning experience. You will need good communication (both verbal & written), numeracy and analytical skills. You will also be a confident user of IT systems. We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual who will enjoy working as part of a team.
