Vacancy Description

To provide strategic leadership, innovation and delivery on carbon reduction and energy management across the councils’ services, buildings and transport. To manage the new Carbon Reduction Team.                                                                                               
To lead on and have responsibility for the effective delivery of the Councils’ 2030 Carbon Neutral Plan and associated programmes and projects, developing further energy and transport policy and technical interventions as needed.

To play a leading role in driving the Councils’ response to the Declaration of Climate Emergency, working across the council with Directors, Heads of Service, project managers,
technical officers, and external consultants and contractors, providing technical and operational solutions, innovation and change.

Temporary post until end of March 2023
