Do you feel passionate about supporting and motivating people to live healthier, happier lives? Are you confident, friendly and outgoing? Could you be the right person to join our Wellbeing Team to build and deliver a new project to work alongside our established wellbeing services?

Adur & Worthing Wellbeing has been operating since 2011 and is part of a county-wide programme funded by Public Health West Sussex to prevent ill-health and promote healthy lifestyles within our local communities.

We have identified a need for a new post in the team which will focus on establishing and delivering an early intervention and prevention project to support people to reduce their alcohol consumption in order to prevent alcohol-related harm and possible future dependence on alcohol.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, be confident in building rapport with providers across a number of organisations, including GP practices in order to establish pathways into the service and of working on a one to one basis with a small caseload of people who want to reduce their drinking.

You will be comfortable with giving presentations and attending events to promote the new service and will take an active role in alcohol related health promotion campaigns.

You have got to be highly motivated with excellent organisational skills and must have experience of working with individuals on a one-to-one basis, supporting behaviour change.

You will have knowledge of alcohol awareness and screening methods - we’ll help you to develop these and other skills, including full training on brief alcohol interventions and motivational interviewing skills. You will be supported by the team, which is part of a wider Communities and Wellbeing Team at the Council and also through external clinical supervision.

This post requires regular evening and weekend work. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to the successful candidate.

So, if being part of a motivated team committed to supporting people to live healthier lifestyles sounds up your street, we want to hear from you.

Please note that your supporting statement should show how you meet each of the requirements set out in the Person Specification, with examples.

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and a full driving licence is needed with access to a car preferable.
