Adur & Worthing Councils needs you!

A newly created, exciting opportunity has become available in our Commercial and Garden Waste Team based in Lancing for someone with a passion for sales.  This is a chance to make a real impact and make this job your own!

The Commercial Sales Advisor role will suit someone who has exceptional customer service experience and sales skills. You’ll be self motivated, driven by success and enjoy building customer relationships over the phone as well as face to face.

As a natural self-starter with excellent communication and negotiation skills, you’ll have experience in selling a range of products and services, be able to work with customer data and analyse market trends. We’re looking for someone who will be able to understand customer requirements and find suitable solutions.

The successful candidate will be

  • a credible, tenacious individual who can build rapport easily
  • enjoy the diversity and challenges that this environment brings
  • be driven to seek-out new business in a highly competitive market.
  • Recognising buying signals and confidently negotiating in order to increase the client base.

Our customers demand impeccable service and expect any matters to be resolved quickly and effectively.  Maintaining positive relationships with external and internal stakeholders is essential for this role.

You will be expected to work with all customer business types across the Adur & Worthing area, selling Commercial Waste Services as well as promoting other Council commercial products, increasing Adur & Worthing Councils’ market share and assisting with identifying gaps in the market for new products and services.  Listening to customers needs, evaluating potential opportunities and being able to ‘tune-in’ to the area’s social-political issues in general is essential.

A full UK/EU driving licence is needed for the role as you’ll need to visit customers.  The post requires a 37 hour week (Monday to Friday) and be mainly based at Commerce Way, Lancing, although you will be expected to work flexibly from other Council and customer locations as required.

If you believe this is the job for you – then we’d love you to apply!
