The Council’s Engineering Services undertakes a broad range of civil, municipal and environmental engineering work on behalf of both Adur District Council and Worthing Borough Council.

An experienced Drainage Engineer is required to assist with assessing planning application for land drainage and act as Agent for the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) within the Authority boundary, as well as assisting with the design, maintenance and management of wide variety of civil, municipal and environmental engineering schemes and general asset management.

Designing and managing a diverse range of projects through from conception to completion. You will be given responsibility to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards.

You`ll also engage and consult with a wide range of stakeholders, from residence to community groups, contractors and consultants and other Council services. You`ll be comfortable communicating with people of all levels and proactive in your approach.

Starting salary will be dependent on experience, qualifications and ability.

The minimum qualification for the post:

  • BTEC HNC in Civil Engineering ideally with a clear demonstrable experience in the field of land drainage and other disciplines, together with a good knowledge of design practice, health and safety (Construction) and contract law.
