Role Summary
At Adur & Worthing Councils our digital strategy is putting our customers at the heart of our services. Back in 2014 we took the bold step to invest in a low-code platform giving us the flexibility to build applications around customer needs, removing reliance on inflexible, expensive and siloed legacy systems. Our strategy is paying off - we have built a wide range of applications for services as diverse as waste, housing and asset management, delivering over £1 million worth of savings and transforming our processes to eliminate duplication and improve efficiency.
We are now seeking an ambitious and experienced leader with a proven track record in Digital and ICT delivery and transformation to continue to develop and deliver our vision. We have an ambitious pipeline of further programmes and projects which include migrating our remaining servers to robust and secure cloud hosted solutions and delivering digital applications defined by corporate priorities. The role is responsible for delivering effective IT services, supported by robust, embedded processes for incident, problem and change management with focus on service excellence and continual service improvement.
To be successful you must have a demonstrable track record in IT management & delivery and excellent people skills to lead a diverse team of operations and development staff as well as a customer base of 500+ service users. You will have a track record in project & programme management with excellent budgetary skills to oversee significant revenue and capital schemes.
This is an exciting opportunity, which is pivotal to delivering our wider strategic ambitions to work across the councils and organisational boundaries.
For an informal conversation about the role please contact Jan Jonker, Head of Customer & Digital Services, on 07881255291.
