Duties of the post:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the creative and ambitious Communications team at Adur & Worthing Councils as Communications Officer.
Reporting to the Head of Comms you’ll play a vital role in this small team, helping us to keep residents informed with council updates from across Adur and Worthing.
The residents are at the forefront of everything we do and we see ourselves as storytellers; constantly seeking opportunities to share the bigger picture across a range of platforms.
We’re busy so you’ll need to be confident to get the ball rolling, ask questions when you’re unsure, and pitch in with your ideas and feedback on the projects we’re working on.
This is an incredible opportunity for someone with journalism experience in addition to a proven background in social media management.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have strong writing experience across a range of platforms
- Have a solid understanding of managing a social media presence
- Know how to craft a perfect social media post
- Some design experience
Your responsibilities will include:
- Press release writing
- Help manage the council’s corporate social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin)
- Contribute and manage additional projects as and when required
- Social media analytics/ reporting
