Adur and Worthing Councils are offering a fantastic opportunity to an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to be part of our rapidly growing award winning ‘Opening Doors’ private sector letting service within the Housing Needs team. 

The ideal candidate will have a lettings or property management background and a good working knowledge of the private rented sector, the Welfare system and relevant housing and homelessness legislation including the Housing Act 1988 (S8 & S21), the Housing Act 1996 (Part 7) and the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 however, if you don’t have this experience, but are willing to learn and feel you have the skills for this post, then please still apply relating your skills to the person specification as we can offer ‘on the job’ training to give you the knowledge you need. 

As a key member of the Housing Needs team, you will pro-actively assist families and individuals to secure suitable private rented accommodation and provide a wide range of tenancy sustainment support to avoid repeat homelessness as well as being a point of contact for landlords on the scheme. 

Some of the main duties of the role will include preparation of tenancy documents, liaison with social benefit departments, property inspections, management of rent accounts, general administrative duties and resolution of landlord and tenant issues.
