Duties of the post:

Would you like to help the Adur and Worthing community feel and be safer? Are you passionate about supporting people, often facing many challenges, to live safe lives?

We are recruiting a second Anti-Social Behaviour & Hate Crime Caseworker to join our Safer Communities Team. This is initially a 12 month post. Our team delivers innovative, person centred initiatives to tackle a variety of issues such as anti social behaviour, hate crime, youth violence, modern slavery, child exploitation, serious and organised crime, and all types of harm to communities and individuals.

This post will involve working with victims and perpetrators of anti social behaviour and hate crime- providing support, co-ordinating multi agency action and where necessary, holding perpetrators to account through enforcement. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with a range of people in a compassionate way, who is able to engage with a diverse audience, who understands the importance of tackling root causes of crime and disorder and can bring people together to solve complex issues. 

Experience in working in community safety, social care or associated roles is very welcome but ultimately we are looking for someone who believes in supporting people to live safe and healthy lives and has the capacity to understand and apply legislation, is a confident communicator and enjoys variety in their role.

This role involves handling sensitive and confidential information and will also sometimes be required to work within Worthing Police station. Please note that you will need to pass Sussex Police security checks. Failure to do so will mean that the offer of employment will be withdrawn.
