Duties of the post:

Are you highly motivated and looking for a new and exciting opportunity? If so, Adur and Worthing Council’s are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join a new private sector lettings team within the Housing Needs service. 

Educated to at least GCSE standard with a minimum of 5 grades 4 or C or above including Maths and English, or with equivalent experience working within social housing or the private rented sector, you will use your excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build relationships with private landlords, letting agencies and other public and private organisations in order to prevent and alleviate housing need.  

As a key member of the Housing Needs team, you will proactively assist families and individuals to secure suitable private rented accommodation and provide a wide range of tenancy sustainment support to avoid repeat homelessness including liaison with social benefit departments, property inspections, management of rent accounts and resolution of landlord and tenant disputes. 

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the private rented sector, the Welfare system and relevant housing and homelessness legislation, although full training will be provided.
