Do you have the drive, passion and commitment to deliver excellent Customer Service and are you open to implementing new and better ways of working within your team to achieve that?
We are looking for a dynamic Team Leader to oversee the day to day operational delivery of a face to face customer services team and to be part of the management team that is also responsible for other customer access points/channels, including a corporate contact centre.
You must have experience of getting the best out of people and of driving performance and continuous improvement in a busy customer service environment. We have a large and diverse team, so you will need a flexible management style and strong coaching skills.
We are working to modernise our systems and processes in order to improve the customer experience, so creative thinking and change management skills are essential. You will have experience supporting vulnerable customers and be an effective communicator with excellent IT skills.
Knowledge of Local Government services (particularly Council tax/NNDR/Housing services) is preferred, but the ability to think quickly and work with service partners to resolve customer enquiries across a wide range of areas is essential.
The Customer service team works extensively with other services on project work to ensure that customers are at the heart of all that we do. You will need to build positive relationships with service colleagues and to work collaboratively with them. If you can demonstrate a “one team” approach and can encourage others to do the same, we would like to hear from you.
The team works in a fast paced environment and you will be based in an open plan Contact Centre. You will also need to manage staff based at another site and to visit that other site regularly.
Adur and Worthing councils have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Adur District and Worthing Borough Councils are equal opportunities employers and encourages applications from people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, people of any religion or belief or sexual orientation and job sharers. Childcare subsidy is payable in appropriate cases. Work base location is indicated, however you may be asked to work at any such place within the Adur District and Worthing Borough Council Service’s area as required. Additional Information As part of Adur & Worthing Council’s ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process, without prior notice if a suitable redeployee (internal employee at risk of redundancy) is identified.
